Thanks for the suggestions Beth. Pan’s Labyrinth was on my “to see” list. I’ve heard nothing but great things about that movie. However, I’ve never heard of Love That Boy. I’ll keep my eye out for it.

Hello, I kinda just stumbled here randomly, but Rushmore and Amelie happen to be two of my absolute faves too (I could watch them over and over).
Therefore, I have to make a few reccomendations: firstly, hopefully you know that Jean Pierre Jeunet made a few more movies than Amelie. If you didn’t, I would start there (especially with City of Lost Children).
A recent one I might try is Pan’s Labyrinth. It’s a bit gory, but fantastic.
On the cutesy end of things, there’s a teensy little Canadian indie movie called Love That Boy. It will probably be hard to find, but it is AWESOME. One of my all time favourites. Also good, is Me You and Everyone We Know – but it might be a little Little Miss Sunshine. Oh! Secretary’s good too. But mildly smutty.
